Not at all. At first glance, our pods appear simple, but in fact, a great deal of development and engineering work has gone into them.
They are manufactured using an industrial injection molding process with solid steel molds – precise, durable, and designed for quality. At the same time, they are constructed in such a way that they remain recyclable at the end of their life cycle. It is precisely this decision that makes development and production much more challenging – but for us, it was clear: if we do it, we do it right.
Let us explain in more detail why there is more to the production of Travelpods than meets the eye.
Each of our 13 plastic components requires its own production tool—and all parts must work together precisely. This makes coordination complex.
To ensure that everything fits perfectly and remains leak-proof, some parts must be manufactured with an accuracy of a few hundredths of a millimeter. This requires the highest precision in every step of production.
Our pods should not only be attractive, but also REACH-compliant, chemically resistant, and break-resistant. This severely limits the choice of materials.
Choosing the right materials was one of the most challenging steps in developing the DABEI Travelpods. We tested, compared, and rejected various options—always with the aim of balancing functionality, safety, and durability. In the end, we deliberately chose materials that meet our high standards and prove themselves in everyday use.
We use high-quality polypropylene (PP) and thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) for DABEI Travelpods. All materials used are REACH-compliant and BPA-free, meaning they meet the applicable European safety standards and can be used without hesitation.
Another advantage: our materials are easy to care for and temperature-resistant. The Travelpods are easy to clean and dishwasher-safe, enabling hygienic use over a long period of time – without any loss of quality.
